Mechanical engineer with a focus on materials testing and the design of research equipment.
I'm currently completing a thesis-based MScEng in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Cape Town, working on outfitting a Gleeble 3800 material testing machine with a novel fracture-toughness apparatus that uses induction heating and optical methods to extract fracture properties of metals at extreme temperatures.
Alongside my studies I work as a laboratory engineer at the Centre for Materials Engineering, where I design and modify equipment, support postgraduate testing, and supervise undergraduate interns.
